Step 1: Navigate to Settings – One can navigate to Settings by clicking the gear icon on the Start menu.
Step 2: Then, select “Update & Security”
Step 3: Now, click Recovery in the left pane.
Here, you will see three major options. Reset this PC, Go back to an earlier build, and Advanced startup. Choose the Reset this PC option, as this is the right option for starting fresh. Advanced startup lets you boot off a recovery USB drive or disc, and “Go to an earlier build” is for Windows insiders who want to roll back to the previous version of Windows OS.
Step 4: Now, click “Get started” under Reset this PC.
Step 5: Click either “Remove everything” or Keep my files”, depending on whether you want to keep all your data files intact or remove everything from your PC. Selecting either of these two options will make all your settings will return their default and apps will be uninstalled.
In case, if you have accidentally pressed “Remove everything” option and you haven’t taken any data backup, then the files that are stored in will be removed from the PC. Later if you realize that you need some files, then it will be too late, as the files will be vanished from the system, as soon as you click the first option. Don’t worry about the lost files, and as of now, complete the reset process. After the completion of the reset process, you can think of the lost files. How to recover lost files after factory reset?
